The pop up A-frame is the sign you can deploy in ten seconds: pull it out of a round bag, let it snap open, and it stands on its own — no poles, no tools, no zip ties. It sounds simple, and it is. The only decisions that matter are shape, size, single or double-sided, and how you anchor it. This guide covers all four, from the factory floor.

We have produced pop up A-frames since our early years, and they quietly became one of our best-selling lines. The reasons buyers give are always the same three:
If you already know what you need, you can skip straight to the pop up A-frame product page for specs and a quote. Everyone else, read on.
Inside every unit is a continuous loop of rust-proof coated spring steel, sewn into the hem of a printed fabric skin. When it is folded flat, the steel loop stores its energy like a compressed spring. Pull the banner out of the bag and release it, and the loop snaps open into a rigid A-shaped profile — two printed faces leaning against each other, self-supporting, with built-in sand pockets along the bottom edge.
To pack it down, you fold the loop into itself — there are plenty of one-minute videos showing the twist — and the whole thing collapses into a disc that fits the round carry bag. No loose parts, nothing to assemble on site, nothing to lose.
A-frames are not one-size-fits-all. We produce four standard silhouettes, each in three sizes:
| Shape | Standard sizes | Best for |
| Oval | 70 × 120 · 100 × 200 · 110 × 260 cm | The all-rounder — race courses, fairways, expo aisles |
| Vertical | 60 × 90 · 80 × 120 · 110 × 200 cm | Tight spots — entrances, sidewalks, retail aisles |
| Bean | 70 × 120 · 100 × 200 · 110 × 260 cm | Playful, organic look — family events, product promos |
| Triangle Round | 100 × 100 · 120 × 120 · 150 × 150 cm | Logos and round marks — golf tees, sponsor zones |

Custom shapes are absolutely a thing — horizontal billboards, vertical towers, mini desk-top versions. If you can sketch it, the spring frame can probably follow it. Send the layout and we will confirm feasibility before quoting.
Size is a question of viewing distance and clutter, not of "bigger is better". Two rules of thumb we give every customer:
Common pairings we ship every week: 60 × 90 cm verticals flanking a trade-show booth entrance, 100 × 200 cm ovals marking hydration stations along a 10K course, and 150 × 150 cm triangle-rounds carrying a single sponsor logo on golf fairways. When in doubt, order one mid-size first and see how it reads in the real venue — at MOQ 1 piece, testing is cheap.
A single-sided A-frame has one printed face; walk around the back and you see the mirror image of the print showing faintly through the fabric — fine for logos, confusing for text. A double-sided A-frame sews two printed skins together with a light-blocking middle layer, so both sides read correctly.
Our rule: if people will ever approach the banner from more than one direction — race courses, open floors, street-facing spots — pay for double-sided. It roughly doubles the printing but the banner is bought to be read. Single-sided makes sense when the back faces a wall, a hedge, or a barrier.
The A-frame is self-supporting, but self-supporting is not the same as windproof. Every unit ships with integrated sand pockets along the bottom edge plus ground stakes:
One more factory note: because the frame is spring steel with a rust-proof coating, getting caught in the rain is not a problem — just dry the banner before storing it.
We print A-frame skins with dye-sublimation: the ink turns to gas and bonds into the polyester fibre, so the print cannot crack, peel or wash out. Full-colour photos, gradients and QR codes cost the same as a flat logo — there is no per-colour charge.
What to watch for in your artwork:
Standard production is 7–12 days after artwork approval, and rush schedules are possible when your event date is fixed — tell us the date first, we confirm the plan in writing before you pay. MOQ is 1 piece, with volume pricing from 10 pieces, and mixed shapes and sizes can share one order.
Shipping is where the A-frame quietly wins. Folded into its round bag, a set of banners weighs a fraction of a tent and occupies the space of a cabin case, so express courier is fast and cheap — typically 5–8 days door to door. Teams that already ship a canopy kit often add a stack of A-frames to the same shipment for almost no extra freight. If you are budgeting the whole logistics chain, our guide to FCL vs LCL vs DDP shipping covers the container side; A-frames usually ride along inside whatever you are already shipping.

| Pop Up A-Frame | Feather Flag | Rigid PVC/ACM Sign | |
| Setup time | ~10 seconds, one person | 1–2 min, pole + base | Fixings, tools, two people |
| Wind behaviour | Sheds wind, stakes + weights | Designed to fly and spin | Rigid — needs firm fixing, can tear mounts |
| Glare | None (fabric) | None (fabric) | Noticeable in sun / under lights |
| Durability if knocked | Pops back, no damage | Pole may bend | Dents, cracks, scratches |
| Packing size | Round bag, cabin-case size | Long pole bag | Flat panels, edges vulnerable |
| Cleaning | Machine washable | Hand wash | Wipe only |
They are complements, not competitors: the flag gives you height, the A-frame gives you a readable message at eye level, and the tent gives you shelter. A full kit — printed canopy, two A-frames and a printed table cover — is what most of our event-brand customers end up standardising on. For pure wayfinding along a course, pair A-frames with feather flags every 30–50 m.
With normal event use (set up, taken down, stored in the bag), the fabric print stays photo-quality for several seasons and the spring-steel frame keeps its shape for years. Continuous outdoor exposure fades any dye-sublimation print eventually, so for permanent installs we recommend bringing the banner in overnight or ordering a spare skin.
Yes. The printed skin is machine washable on a gentle cycle or rinseable with a hose. Let it dry fully before folding it back into the carry bag, and it will look fresh at the next event. This is one of the biggest advantages over paper or PVC signage.
Standard production is 7–12 days after artwork approval, which makes the A-frame one of the fastest products in our range. If you have a fixed event date, tell us the date when you ask for a quote and we will confirm the schedule in writing before you order.
One piece. Many first-time buyers order a single banner to test quality, then come back for a set. Volume pricing kicks in from 10 pieces, and mixed shapes or sizes can be combined into one order.
Yes. If you already own frames, we can produce replacement printed skins that fit standard pop-up A-frame sizes. Send us the frame size and we will match the sewing pattern.
Absolutely — it is one of the most popular indoor signs for trade shows, retail aisles and school halls. No stakes are needed indoors; the frame is self-supporting and the fabric face does not glare under hall lighting like rigid PVC boards do.
